Conceived and organised the first legal land-based poker tournament in Manchester on behalf of a very young Betfair Poker.
Was the first to successfully set up and sell “corporate poker evenings” into the City, boasting clients such as Citigroup, RBS, Clifford Chance, LMVH and many other blue-chip companies who would pay for the privilege of having a poker night for themselves and their clients. These clients would then be converted to online players through various online poker sponsors.
Set up PokerGirl UK, an initiative to teach women how to play poker, and market it as the “new night out” for females, and without the aid of a PR company, generated unprecedented press coverage including the Front Page of The Times , and interviews with Julian on Nippon TV (the largest channel in Japan) and BBC radio.
Managed the inaugural EPT press tournament on behalf of PokerStars.
Acted on behalf of the investors for sports book Bet and Game and successfully sourced and negotiated successful sell to German sports book, JAXX.
Conceived and co-founded Bingo on the Box on behalf of The Palace Group (Spin Palace etc). Bingo on the box is an online bingo operatior whose traffic is derived largely from simulcasts on SKY and Freeview. www.bingoonthebox.com launched on SKY TV within 4 months of incorporation, and was the first TV bingo company to successfully broadcast on Freeview.
